The Citizen Is Recruiting

The St Neots Citizen is looking to recruit some freelance journalists to provide high-quality editorial and features.

You must have no journalism experience and will not be paid. All we ask is that you can spell (most of the time) and write things that will make at least two people – not including yourself – laugh.

Stories can be anywhere from two paragraphs (News In Brief) to two pages long, as long as it makes sense. Well, not makes sense exactly, but isn’t just one crude joke with “Eynesbury man Dajve Bettinas said…” written before it.

It also doesn’t have to have much to do with St Neots – locals do love to comment on national stories.

What do I get out of this?

The chance to work, for free, for a leading local news resource – the St Neots Citizen – and be part of the Web 2.0 experience. You’ll edit your stories directly in our WordPress back-end system, so you can look all snobby and say “I blog, dontchaknow.”

Interested? Email editor@citizen.foshiznik.com including a short story or News In Brief article. If we like it, we’ll send you back a username and password, and basic instructions on how to use the system.

Be part of it! Get involved! Bring humour to the interwebs and to St Neots! Fuck knows it needs it.
