Despite the lack of interest locally in the concrete monstrosity straddling one of the shitter bits of Cambridgeshire (St Ives), yesterday I thought I’d give the guided busway a go.
It was OK I suppose – the bus turned up on time and didn’t get stuck on the A14. The leather seats were a bit grubby and the WiFi wasn’t working, so most of it was as expected.
But I was disappointed, when we joined the busway itself, to find that the vehicle remained a bus. I expected it to turn into some sort of magical super public transport, or double in size, or do 250mph or something – but it didn’t.
For that reason, it’s probably been a massive waste of money. Maybe.
