The Citizen and local weekly news organ the St Neots Liar are chums once more, after a chance meeting down the ramps between features editor Francisco Sanchez, and similarly-named Liar editor Franco De La Bonbon.
Local young skater chap Frank, 35, said, “I was there! It was a bit hostile to start with, but the minute they started bustin’ moves on their scooters, everyone could see they were meant for each other. Slowly they rekindled their friendship – it was great to see. People seem to forget, Trev Monsoon is not the only journalist with a scooter round here!”
As the liar reported this week, Sanchez and De La Bonbon fell out in 1988, whilst working together at Sheep magazine, after Francisco called Franco a rude word. Francisco refused to comment on what the utterance may have been, instead preferring to refuse to answer on the grounds that he may incriminate himself – a tactic he saw in The Good Wife once and did not realise didn’t apply outside America.
